Attempting a map of the labyrinth, the iceberg, a dream. A map for losing yourself completely. A map for one who must dig a hole in order to try and get themselves out of it. Mapping the process of making. The terrain of my recent work takes root somewhere between the space I find myself in, significant places and the underground world of the unconscious. This selection of mixed media drawings were made alongside a series of paintings during my residency at Listhus, Olafsfjordur. Shown independent of the 'finished work', they navigate a journey through initial ideas and decision making; excess thought and procrastination parties; wrong turns and resolved pieces. These maps are not intended for one looking to find their way, but rather a charter of some of the stuff you may find along the way.
